Tony Coley is Regional President of BB&T, South Florida.   In this role, Tony is responsible for the growth of BB&T’s banking operations in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe counties.

Tony joined BB&T through its acquisition of Colonial Bank in August of 2009 where he served as the President and CEO of Colonial Bank’s SE Florida Commercial Banking Division. Previously, Tony was the Regional President of BB&T, Central Florida and earlier was BB&T’s Market President for all of Broward County. In 2011, Tony was honored by the Miami Herald as one of the Top 20 business leaders under 40 years of age.

Tony remains very active in the community. Prior to leaving Central Florida, he held seats on several local boards including the Boy Scouts of Central Florida where he serves as the VP of Finance, the Central Florida Partnership, the African-American Chamber of Commerce, Florida Hospital Children’s Hospital Board, Orlando Business Force, and the UCF Business School Dean’s Advisory Board. Tony is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, FL.

Tony was born and raised in South Florida and is a graduate of the University of Miami, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree and was a starting linebacker on the University of Miami football team. He has earned numerous accolades for academics, athletics and community service including a place on the NCAA Good Works Team, a national award recognizing outstanding community service.
