John E. Murphy, Jr.
Chief Financial and Administrative Officer
As Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of OneBlood, John E. Murphy, Jr. is responsible for all financial aspects of the organization as well as health/safety, facilities, fleet and procurement. Prior to the OneBlood merger, John served as chief financial officer at Florida’s Blood Centers.
John also serves as President of the OneBlood Foundation and as Chief Financial Officer of America’s Blood Centers, a blood industry support organization headquartered in Washington, D.C.
Prior to OneBlood, John was a leader at Darden Restaurants, where he rose to the position of senior vice president with assignments in finance, real estate development, purchasing and distribution, information technology and mergers and acquisitions. He began his career as a consultant for Arthur Andersen and Co., specializing in healthcare, manufacturing, hospitality and state and local government.
His community involvement includes an 11 year term on the Health Central Hospital Board of Trustees, where he also served as chair, and previous service as treasurer of the West Orange Committee of 101 and president of the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation. John presently serves as the Chair of the Architectural Review and Historical Preservation board for the City of Winter Garden. In July 2013 he was appointed by Governor Rick Scott to serve as a Trustee of the West Orange Healthcare District and he now serves as board chair for that organization.
John is a Certified Public Accountant and received his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of South Florida.
