When Jaime turned 16, she was excited to be able to donate blood at her high school blood drive. While getting her pre-donation health screening, she discovered her blood pressure was extremely high.

Jaime and her mom immediately called their family physician. After many tests, she discovered she had a narrowed renal artery that had compromised the growth of one of her kidneys. She underwent surgery to get an angioplasty to correct the artery and save her kidney, but there were complications. The artery collapsed during surgery, and she needed emergency surgery to save her kidney. Jaime fully recovered and was able to resume her active lifestyle.

Jaime is extremely grateful for the pre-donation health screening that saved her life.
