Make a Resolution to Give Blood

Every year many of us make New Year’s resolutions and often these focus on health. We’re going to go to the gym every day, eat healthier, lose weight. We know health is important. But why not add another resolution to that list – one that will help others and save lives. Add “Donate Blood” to your list.

Never donated before? Then make this the year you start because you can make a difference. In general, only 4 out of every 10 people are able to donate blood but only 1 out of 10 do and every donation is vital. Many people feel they don’t have the time to donate, but the process of donating whole blood takes less than an hour from start to finish. One donation a year makes a difference and if every donor donated twice a year, we might be able to eliminate blood shortages. You can donate at a blood center or on a bloodmobile. Our Big Red Buses are out in the community every day so that blood donors can save lives.

Worried about the process? Our team will help answer any questions you might have and work to make donating as comfortable as possible. All we need you to do is make that first step onto the Big Red Bus. Most people find their fears vanish after they make their first blood donation. With one donation you can save a life and that’s a resolution we can all feel good about.
