As Senior Vice President, Quality & Regulatory Affairs, Marlene Pagan is responsible for ensuring all policies, procedures, assessments and reviews of quality practices related to the safe and compliant collection and transfusion of blood products, as defined by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other accrediting/regulatory agencies are adhered to at all times.
Marlene has been in the blood banking industry for more than 25 years.
She began her career in the donor testing laboratory before moving into quality practices for the blood center. She was named Director, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs for OneBlood in 2012 and tapped as Senior Vice President in 2023. Marlene has been an integral part of quality, compliance and the strategic direction that has helped establish OneBlood as a leading blood center in the industry.
Marlene is a member of AABB, serving as a volunteer Assessor since 2012 and is also a member of the South Central Association of Blood Banks. She holds certification with ASQ as a Certified Software Quality Engineer and worked closely with the medical device group that designed the Blood Establishment Computer System currently used by OneBlood.
Marlene received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Florida International University and her Master of Business Administration Information Technology Management from Western Governors University. She is an ASCP certified Medical Technologist and Florida licensed Medical Technologist.
