Donor Bill Of Rights

OneBlood is committed to treating our valued blood donors with respect, courtesy and professionalism. We could not fulfill our lifesaving mission without the support of our donors. To remain worthy of the precious gifts of time and self shared by blood donors and to maintain public trust in our prudent stewardship of the community’s blood supply, OneBlood declares that all who donate blood with us have these rights:

  1. To be informed of OneBlood’s mission.
  2. To be informed of the steps involved in the collection, processing and distribution of donated blood
  3. To be informed of the identity of those serving on OneBlood’s Board of Directors
  4. To have access to our governing documents (such as by-laws and whistle blower policy) and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities
  5. To have access to the public-inspection copy of our most recently filed Internal Revenue Service Form 990
  6. To receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition for their blood donation
  7. To be assured that information about their blood donations is kept confidential to the extent provided by law
  8. To expect that OneBlood’s business relationships are conducted according to high ethical standards
  9. To have the opportunity for their names to be deleted from OneBlood mailing and call lists
  10. To feel free to ask questions when making a blood donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers
