One Donation Would Make a Difference

Orlando, Florida
January 9, 2017

Guess what? It’s one more press release from the blood center asking for blood donors. Why is this one different – well, it really isn’t … except … we have found a way to stop blood shortages.

That’s right, you heard us correctly. We did the math and the answer is … one.

How did we arrive at that number? All it will take is one additional blood donation from each eligible blood donor in 2017 and we can say good-bye to blood shortages.

So, our question is … Can you donate just one more time than you did the year before? If you can, it will make urgent appeals by the blood center a thing of the past.  If you can donate just one more time, it will mean our blood supply will be stronger than ever and ready to face whatever comes our way.

Don’t wait for a tragedy to donate blood.  Every day people are receiving blood transfusions.  Cancer patients, trauma patients, premature babies and sickle cell patients, just to name a few. There is no substitute for blood – the one and only place it can come from … is you.

If everyone commits to making one more blood donation than they did the year before, it would have a powerful effect on our community.

Make saving lives part of your New Year’s resolution.

If you donated once last year, then give twice this year.
If you donated twice last year, then give three times this year.
If you donated three times last year, then give four times this year.
If you never donated before … let 2017 be the one year you start.

If you hosted one blood drive last year, host two this year.
If you hosted two blood drives last year, host three this year.
If you hosted three blood drives last year, host four this year.
If you never hosted a blood drive, hold your first one in 2017.

If everyone gave just one more time – together it would make one huge difference.

Share your power to save lives – donate blood.
