Blake

Thomasville, Georgia

“My son Blake is a living miracle,” says Jimmy. Ten years ago, while Jimmy was driving home with Blake he swerved to avoid a dog and crashed into a tree. As a result, Blake suffered many broken bones and a traumatic brain injury. Blake was in a near death situation.

“He needed an unbelievable amount of blood, bag after bag,” says his dad. Blake underwent fifteen surgeries and was in a coma for a year. He was on a ventilator and feeding tube for some time and then started rehabilitation.

Blake

Ten years later he has nearly recovered with some limitation.

Despite the scars left behind by the automotive accident, Blake’s dad says, “he is the light for a bad day and is now a young man around town.” Today, Blake and his dad are regular blood donors. They both know that patients at area hospitals need blood to recover.
