On September 19, 2019, Cathy and her daughter Chloe Anne survived an Amniotic Fluid Embolism (AFE).

Doctors performed an emergency cesarean to save Chloe Anne's life and rushed Cathy to the operating room.

While in surgery and during her subsequent ICU stay, Cathy required many blood transfusions. These blood donations were critical to her survival.

One year later, Cathy has already organized several blood drives to help replenish the blood products she needed, and to help raise awareness for AFE.
