My grandfather, Louis Henry Bishop, was a firm believer in donating blood. His blood type was O negative and he donated religiously. After beating an extremely rare form of bladder cancer, he passed due to the toll his body went through and continued his spirit with the donation of his body to science to help treat and cure others with the same form of cancer. Being AB- (and a pediatrics donor), I have carried on with the spirit of donating and think of him with every single platelet and whole blood donation I make. I thank him, as well as all those who have served and are currently serving our country. I donate for him and all of the other brave men and women who fight for our rights. Thank you.
