Many years ago one of my employees needed blood. So, my kitchen staff and I went down and donated for him. That started my journey as a blood donor. In 2005 my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. While meeting with her doctor one day he told us about platelet donations and how they helped people who were fighting cancer. I switched over to platelet donations that month. It means a lot to me to help those who are fighting cancer. It's almost twenty years later and my wife is still with me. And, I'm still donating platelets. To date, I have donated 135 gallons.
