Following my experience with cancer from several years ago, I realized what a difference my platelets make for people with cancer going through treatment. My cancer treatment required that I be tested each time prior to being treated. For my final treatment I failed to qualify but was allowed to be treated because it was the last time I would have to subject my body to the effects of the treatment. It certainly made me consider what patients feel that DO NOT qualify for treatment anytime during the process. It's very worthwhile for me to catch up on Netflix for a while if my platelets can allow someone to get through the treatment that may save their life.
