I am a sixty five year old male who was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia in December 2022. I have been getting infusions of whole blood and platelets for the last 7 months awaiting a bone marrow transplant.
I am currently in the University of Miami Cancer Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center waiting to get my platelet count up to 50k to have a catheter placed in my chest to accept the bone marrow transplant in a few days.
The whole blood and platelets given to me to complete my care is totally unbelievable. I have given blood in the past to OneBlood and now I am receiving blood and platelets that are keeping me alive until my transplant. Thank you all for taking your time to donate.
