Two of our four kids were born with a rare genetic disorder that requires them to receive monthly blood transfusions at Sacred Heart Pensacola. They have each had over 115 transfusions and are 8 and 9 years old. If it weren’t for OneBlood, our kids wouldn’t be thriving. With the growing blood volume needed as their bodies grow, the need for donor matches also grows as they sometimes need two donors per transfusion. The matching process gets more specific as they have antibodies and antigens that need to match. Blood donation has saved our kids’ lives.
