On May 12, 2022, I went in for a normal vaginal induction at 37 weeks due to high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, and a kidney issue I have been fighting for months during my pregnancy. I was induced and was halfway along when my placenta started to detach and my son's heart rate dropped way too low. Next thing I knew, they were rushing me to an OR for an emergency C-section. During my C-section, I hemorrhaged and required a blood transfusion and a hysterectomy. Because someone donated blood, I was able to receive my transfusion and meet my son and go home to my other children.
