I used to be a donor because I knew that my blood was going to save lives. I never knew what it was like to be receiving blood. Back in 2013, I was bleeding and went to the doctor for a Depo-Provera shot. I would have stopped by the next day, but that wasn't the case this time.
I bled for another month and a half until I went to the hospital. Thankfully it was less than a mile from where I was living! They took a while to get me into the emergency room to be seen. I just kept bleeding and I was in unbelievable pain.
I received medication and after 3AM, they admitted me into the hospital. During my three day stay I received 4 blood transfusions. They released me. A week and a half later, I went back to the hospital. I had to receive two more transfusions. My medication was changed and I am alive because of the people that donated their blood. I am thankful for donors because they helped save my life and many others.
