Mike M.

Ft. Walton Beach, Florida

Mike Miller is a prime example of someone who both serves his country and his community. Mike retired from the military after almost 24 years of active duty, but continues to serve his country as an engineer in the civil service.

Mike also understands the importance of serving his local community. He saves lives as a faithful blood and platelet donor and also serves as the chairperson for blood drives on Eglin Air Force Base.

Mike I am OneBlood May 2015

Mike began donating blood with OneBlood in 1996 and realized the power of his blood type, donating platelets every two weeks for the past seven years. He has now donated more than 30 gallons!

Mike has been the blood drive chairperson on Eglin Air Force Base for more than six years. Being a blood drive chairperson has allowed him to inspire others to share their power and donate blood. His caring and compassionate attitude regarding blood donations shines through as he encourages people to donate at every drive.

“It feels good knowing that what I am doing is giving others the chance to live.”
-Mike

Where Are They Now

July 2020 - Mike recently shared this update: “I’m still the unit coordinator for my squadron on base, going on twelve years now. Just made a triple platelet donation last Saturday. Hit the 45 Gallon milestone.”
