Pat

Lakeland, Florida

In 1960, when I was a freshman in college, my PE teacher developed cancer and needed to have several blood transfusions. The college asked students if we could and wanted to do so to donate in her name. Since that time I have been a blood donor on a regular basis, and I am now 79 years old and still donating. With the exception of twice when I was pregnant and/or had surgery, I have given blood as often as possible. It would be over 50 gallons by now, I have not kept a detailed record as I have given in four different states. I consider it a privilege and honor to be able to give something that helps save others’ lives.
