I have always considered being able to give blood as an honor. However, it became really important to me after my father needed a lifesaving procedure. Knowing that my donations could help someone else from losing a loved one gave each one special meaning.

My dad was able to “walk” my daughter (his granddaughter) down the aisle for her wedding. Blood donations made that moment possible and is part of what I want to give to others.
