As an O Neg blood type, I donated blood throughout my life since my blood was always in high demand as a universal donor. Then, on 8/12/22, I ended up at Tampa General Hospital needing 3 blood transfusions to save my life. I had lost 2/3 of my entire blood supply. This time I was the recipient of an O Neg blood unit. I am eternally grateful to those who donate the gift of life, who saved my life, and countless others.
