The blood that she received though donors like you, bought us the time we needed to save her life. I never forgot that generosity. Staying two extra days in the pediatric cancer unit, I saw what those parents go through and I had a big change of heart about donating blood.
Prior to this time I was afraid to give blood, so I gave excuses for not even trying. After those critical days in the hospital I didn't care about my fears anymore. I just wanted to help families like ours that needed one hour of my life to save a life. Now, 17 years later, our daughter is graduating from college in the spring and our life is one of gratitude!
Remembering that gratitude I can't even wait to give blood again. If you feel like I did, I hope you will just go in!! Just do it! You are saving a life and it is so worth it!!!
