I am a 13-year-old sickle cell anemia patient. I received my 1st blood transfusion at 6 months old for an additional 6 months. I went 13 years, and now I’m back with blood exchange transfusions for 6 months due to a carotid artery stenosis rarely found in children. I began 8th grade this year, and I would not be able to do everyday teen activities if it wasn't for the blood donations helping to save my life time and time again. Thank you all.
