Violet C.

Saint Augustine, Florida

Violet is a force to be reckoned with! A 20 month old Deaf toddler on the go, she enjoys looking at books, throwing anything she can get her hands on, playing with drumsticks, climbing anything and everything, and above all else, playing outside! She has had a lot of medical intervention since the start, but with the amount of excitement this little girl has for life, you would never know it! She brings joy wherever she goes and she loves to make people laugh!

Violet was diagnosed with a rare bone marrow disorder around 3 months of age during a long NICU stay for various other medical complexities. Her blood disorder, which is unconfirmed but likely Diamond Blackfan Anemia, is characterized by the body's inability to produce red blood cells on its own. Every three weeks we travel to Jacksonville, FL to receive her blood infusion, a process that takes the majority of the day and a lot of patience for a busy toddler (and her parents)! We are beyond grateful for the donors who continue to help sustain her life through their generous blood donations, because without them, she simply wouldn't be here.
