Six years ago, I was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer) and had to have my left kidney removed, along with the bottom half of my left lung due to the cancer metastasizing. I'm sure a lot of blood was needed with both surgeries. I did donate blood before all that, but now, I donate more often knowing people need donors. What I want to say to others is, please give, before you need it.
