Andrew C. Herman, M.D. is the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital and Jeff Gordon Children’s Center in North Carolina.
Doctor Herman is Associate Professor of Neonatology and has been with Atrium Health (formerly Carolinas HealthCare System) in Charlotte, North Carolina since 2004.
His appreciation for a ready blood supply for patients became personal in August of 2017 when he was involved in a serious bicycle accident and required multiple blood transfusions due to injuries he sustained. He knows the vital role blood donors played in saving his life and is passionate about encouraging blood donations.
Doctor Herman completed his undergraduate degree at Indiana University, received his medical degree from Saint Louis University followed by a residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at the University of Virginia.
