John Murphy is OneBlood’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer and is responsible for all financial aspects of OneBlood. John also oversees corporate communications and public relations, facilities, fleet and procurement. John also serves as President of the OneBlood Foundation. Additionally, he holds board positions for the company’s investment arm, OBF Investments, LLC and its software joint venture, ARC-One Solutions, LLC and Proesis Biologics, Inc.
John has served as a volunteer leader in the blood industry at the national level with his roles as volunteer CFO for America’s Blood Centers and Treasurer for the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies.
Prior to OneBlood, John was a leader at Darden Restaurants, Inc. where he rose to the position of senior vice president with assignments in finance, real estate development, purchasing and distribution, information technology and mergers and acquisitions. He began his career as a consultant for Arthur Andersen & Co., specializing in healthcare, manufacturing, hospitality and state and local government.
His community involvement includes an 11-year term on the Health Central Hospital Board of Trustees, where he also served as chair. In July 2013 he was appointed by Florida Governor Rick Scott to serve as a Trustee of the West Orange Healthcare District until the dissolution of the District in 2023.
John is a Certified Public Accountant and received his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of South Florida.
