Every summer, OneBlood joins forces with the first responders in our local communities to donate blood and save lives. Police and fire departments, hospitals, city halls, and more come together to host numerous blood drives across North Carolina all the way down to South Florida.
A first responder is someone who is the first to arrive and help when there is an emergency. This includes law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical technicians (EMTs).
Now, by donating blood, they’ll be there to help even before an incident occurs…and you can join them too. Blood donors are first, first responders. Your blood donation today will help someone when they need it 2-3 days from now.
Join the team of first responders this summer by donating with them at a blood drive near you. (You’ll even get a Free Limited Edition First Responders T-shirt, $20 eGift Card, and wellness checkup!)
It was great to see Chief Douglas Goerke roll up his sleeve and donate when the Big Red Bus stopped by the St. Cloud Police Department in Florida.
The team at Pinellas Suncoast Fire & Rescue proudly showed off their bandage of honor after they donated.
Some partners even made a challenge out of their annual blood drive. The Matthews Police and Fire Departments in North Carolina hosted the “Battle of the Badges” to see who could collect the most blood donations. The prize? Bragging rights of course!
OneBlood is proud to partner with all of the first responders who put their lives on the line for us every day. Honor our local heroes this summer by donating blood and becoming a hero yourself! First responder blood drives run from June 1st through August 31st.
