OneBlood and the Orlando Magic are teaming up again to save lives and create magical fan experiences! We sat down with Caitlin Williamson, Account Executive with the Orlando Magic, to learn more about this magical partnership.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your role with the Orlando Magic?

This is my first season with the Orlando Magic, and I love it! I help create legendary experiences for those visiting the Amway Center to watch the Orlando Magic. I come from a Hospitality and Tourism background with a degree in Event Planning from the Rosen College of Hospitality Management.

Why did the Orlando Magic choose to team up with OneBlood?

Community is one of the Orlando Magic’s Core Values and in partnering with OneBlood, we can help our community become more aware of the need for blood donors. Our partnership allows every blood donor that gives a chance to experience a game at the Amway Center as well. We are going into our sixth season with this partnership and has been so rewarding to use Magic tickets as an incentive to help save lives.

What are you most excited about regarding this partnership?

I personally have been donating blood for the past 10 years, so I enjoy being able to continue my blood donation and work with OneBlood to encourage others to participate. Every time I leave the OneBlood Big Red Bus, I leave with a sense of satisfaction knowing I did my best that day to help a person in need. If we could all do that more often, I think the world would be an even better place.

What message would you like to share with the community about blood donations?

There is always a need for blood. I know many people think it’s only needed around tragedies or large catastrophic events, but people need blood each and every day for one reason or another. People usually donate because it feels good to help others, so check out your local OneBlood bus locations today. You can make a difference!
