Donating blood is very safe and blood donors who give regularly may experience long-term health benefits.
There is zero risk of being infected with HIV.
Donating your blood does not cause you to gain weight. It’s important to hydrate before and after donating, but a pint of blood weighs 1 pound. So by donating, you actually lose 1 pound.
Giving blood actually can improve your health by reducing excess iron stored in your body and encouraging your body to produce new blood cells.
Although you should wait a few hours to engage in vigorous exercise, donating blood does not affect the sex drive.
There is no upper age limit to donating. As long as you are healthy and meet all regular donation criteria you may donate.
