What Is Red Cell Plasma?

Red Cell Plasma is a specialized automated donation process. During a Red Cell Plasma donation, we collect only the red blood cells and plasma while returning your platelets and other components safely back to you.

Carry oxygen to the body's tissues. Vital for trauma victims, surgery patients, and treating anemia.

Plasma is the liquid portion of blood that helps replace lost proteins and restores vital clotting factors, helping stop patients from bleeding.

Who is Eligible?

Blood Types Needed

A+, B+, AB+, & AB- 
 

Age and Weight Requirements
You must be at least 16 years old to donate blood. 16-year olds must provide a signed parental or guardian consent form. (16 and 17-year olds in North Carolina). You must also weigh at least 110 pounds.


How Often Can I Donate Red Cell Plasma?
You can donate every 56 days for a total of 6 donations a year.
