Hi, in April 2025 I went out for a late night ride with my friends. I used to ride a Yamaha R7 motorcycle. We stopped at the gas station on Forest Hill in Congress so everyone can fuel up. It was around 1 AM when we were about to leave the gas station when a lady ran through the red light and t-boned me. The only thing I remember from that night was looking at my friends while I was laying on the ground and giving them my husband’s phone number and then my mother-in-law’s phone number when he did not answer after that everything’s a blur.
I woke up almost a day later after being in surgery for hours. I looked around and realized I couldn’t move. She had broken my collarbone, my back, my entire rib cage on my left side. Her car pinned my leg against my bike and dragged me a little before she hit the brakes and then my body flew over her car. Which caused my entire foot to shatter, and not to mention the road rash that went from the bottom of my toes where you can see a tendon all the way up my shin. The rest of the road rash was all over my belly, my chest and my left side. But no matter what I was grateful to be alive because I have two boys and a loving husband that I had to get home to. As broken as I was, I’m just grateful my family did not have to bury me. She changed my life forever. I built bonds with people in my hospital room that I can never forget. I’m heartbroken that I will never get my old life back and that my kids had to witness me in the hospital for so long, especially because they were only 4 and 2 years old. I just wish more people paid attention on the road and kept an eye out for motorcycles. I would also like to thank OneBlood for getting blood to the hospital so I could have a blood transfusion. You guys literally helped save my life.
