When my grandson was 27 months old he was hospitalized with ECOLI and Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome and needed multiple blood transfusions. At 15 years old he had a kidney transplant as a result of this and, again, needed blood. I donate multiple times a year to help others as a way to show my appreciation in return. My grandson is now 22 years old and, so far, doing great!
