Claudia

I donate blood in memory of my son Aaron Jacob Sava. Aaron died in 1994 when he was 3 years old from complications of the chicken pox. This was the year before the vaccine was approved in the U.S.A. He died 21 days after his first pox mark.

We asked about donating his organs and were told they couldn't use anything of his. I heard that our perfect little boy was gone and would have no impact on this world. He was only here three years and his life wouldn't matter.

Later, I decided I could donate blood in his memory and be a cheerleader for blood donations. My husband and I donate regularly.

We had two more sons and they both started donating when they turned 16. I love donating with them. Aaron would have been turning 30 on February 9. He will always be in my heart. This is our way of remembering Aaron.
