When I was 17, I said I would like to give 50 Gallons of blood before I die. Well, I am 78 now, and I have given over 49 gallons of blood so far and expect to hit my teenage goal of 50 in the next couple of months. I expect that somewhere along the line, I have helped to save a few lives, and that makes me feel kind of good. Perhaps a young boy or girl will read this and be inspired to set a goal of their own. I think that once I reach my initial goal, I will reset it by 5 more gallons at a time.
