My Mother fought Ovarian Cancer for 7 years. She was constantly getting Radiation & Chemo. Many times she was given Platelets to boost her energy level as she was in her 70's. My Mother never complained and accepted her situation, and when discussing the cancer she would always say "Why Not Me". She didn't want pity or sympathy. Over the years I saw the value of those transfusions and felt her fight gave me 7 years more of time with her. For that I am truly grateful.
My Donations are going on 12 years with OneBlood in hope that I can give back to others so they can hopefully fight the fight until we find a cure. I called my Mother an "Angel" while she was still alive as she was my Rock. I hope others will heed the message and share their power against this great disease. This one's for you Mom.
