I'm a snowbird and started giving platelets about every 8 or 10 days since Christmas time. Very nice folks in Melbourne FL and they really take good care of me here. My daughter had a bone marrow transplant and I'm trying to pay it forward. My daughter needed many many units of platelets while being treated for Leukemia. I'm a lifelong blood donor, but giving platelets is more rewarding since I can give so much more often.
