Ronald H.

Granite Falls, North Carolina

In 1970 the Vietnam war was going on. I turned 18 on April 26 and donated blood within a week. I felt my blood could help returning wounded servicemen. I joined the Navy 18Oct71. The Icelandic fire station on base only took RH- since all Icelanders had the same type. I got the fire station to start taking any blood types due to a possible plane crash with people from different counties and blood types.

While in the Navy I have donated in many locations, over 10 gallons. I have now given 3+ gallons with OneBlood. I think all healthy people should give blood to help those who are in need and can save lives. Donating will make you feel better, physically and mentally. Keep Giving!
