2/11/23 I went into the hospital to have a scheduled induction of my sixth child!! Things didn’t go as planned. Was told I needed an emergency C-section to save my baby. The CRNA doing my epidural was very frustrated that she could not find the right spot - attempted multiple times causing small puncture in an artery. A week later 2/18/23 I arrived back to hospital in hypovolemic shock cardiac arrest. Severe right side pain/confusion.
Told me I needed to go to the ER. Shortly after ER arrival I was intubated, mass transfusion of 26 bags of blood/blood products - emergency surgery - volleyball size hematoma found & severed artery in my back. Was in a coma for the next week and had three surgeries - 40 staples down and 1% chance of survival, I lost 90% of my blood. Needed several more transfusions over next week. 3 weeks later finally reunited with my newborn. Thank God for the blood donors and 2 doctors who chose to save my life.
