It all started with a bad brownie. I went to my favorite restaurant, McGuire's, for my birthday. I was given a birthday brownie (I LOVE their brownies). This particular brownie was dry, and just wasn't good. The bartender was visibly mad at me for telling him it wasn't good. A couple weeks later, my best friend came in town to visit & I bring everyone who visits to McGuire's. It's still my favorite restaurant - despite one rude bartender.
This time, Stu was bartending. He found out I do a morning show on the radio and asked me to talk about the Big Red Bus coming to McGuire's. I told him "Absolutely!" He offered me a complimentary brownie or drink. I told him about my last brownie experience, he was sad that not only was it not good but the previous bartender was rude about it. So, he brought me a DELICIOUS brownie! I came back to McGuire's the day the Big Red Bus was there and I've been donating ever since! I have a perfect immune system so why not share my blood and platelets. Now, I'm friends with everyone at my OneBlood location and I've recruited a handful of friends to become donors also! And to think, it all started with a bad brownie! hah!
