The board of directors of OneBlood, Inc., the not-for-profit blood center serving Florida, as well as parts of South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama has elected several new officers of the board.
Bill Bieberbach was elected as Chairman of the Board. His term will begin effective January 31st, when the term for the current chairman, John “Buz” Windham expires. Prior to becoming Chairman, Bill served as Vice Chairman of the board for the past two years in addition to several committee leadership posts. Prior to the 2012 three way merger that created OneBlood, he also completed six years of service on the board of Orlando-based Florida’s Blood Centers. Bill is from Orlando, Florida and is the former CEO of Miller Industrial Solutions. He also served as an international consultant to theme parks, recreational projects and tourist attractions specializing in management, operations, marketing and finance.
Ralph Aleman, President and CEO of Citrus Memorial Hospital was named Vice Chairman of the OneBlood board. Ralph is from Inverness, Florida and has been a OneBlood board member for the past seven years. Before OneBlood was formed, Ralph also served five years on the Community Blood Centers of South Florida board. Prior to joining Citrus Memorial Hospital, Ralph’s distinguished healthcare career included CEO positions with Hialeah Hospital in South Florida, Palmetto General Hospital, Miami Heart Institute & Medical Center and Cedars Medical Center. He also has held leadership roles with Tenet Healthcare Corporation, HCA and Victoria Hospital Partnership.
Jeremy Miller, Executive Vice President of Harden was re-elected for a second term as Treasurer of the OneBlood board. Jeremy is from Jacksonville and has been a OneBlood board member for the past four years. Before joining the OneBlood board, Jeremy served ten years on The Blood Alliance board. Jeremy knows first-hand the importance of a ready blood supply. In 1997 he was involved in a serious car accident and required multiple blood transfusions. The experience made Jeremy acutely aware of just how vital blood centers and blood donors are in the community and he has been an avid supporter of blood donation ever since.
Michael De Lucca, President and CEO of Broward Regional Health Planning Council was appointed as Secretary of the OneBlood board. Michael resides in South Florida and has 30 years of health care management experience. As CEO of the Council, Michael oversees a wide range of programs including childcare, family health, housing, HIV prevention, substance abuse and mental health programs. Michael has been a OneBlood board member for the past four years. Before joining the OneBlood board, Michael served two years on the Community Blood Centers of South Florida board.
The OneBlood Board of Directors consists of nine members located throughout OneBlood’s service area.
